The Alkaris sofa was designed by BABAYANTS ARCHITECTS in collaboration with the WOODFUNS company, specifically for the ALL-RUSSIAN ARCHITECTURAL FESTIVAL BEST INTERIOR FESTIVAL 2023 exhibition.
The object was created as part of a study of several realities in which the architect exists. One reality is in the mind, where images and forms are born. Another is in the 3D world, where projects take on their own look and character. The third reality is the physical one, where we materialize projects and build spaces.
The sofa is inspired by sea anemones and the brightly colored corals that were home to the characters in Finding Nemo. The backs are soft and elastic. This bright object is a prototype of another reality.
The sofa is made up of a series of soft modules that can be rearranged to change its shape and function. The «villi» can be moved and act as a system of flexible backs. Despite their unique design, they are very comfortable to use.

The object displayed at the exhibition is one-of-a-kind, designed for multi-purpose use and modernization. It is currently showcased in the Flat salon and will soon be placed for a new function and space.
